DCC hosted sectional play for 9 of the 15 sections on Saturday. With 4 teams in each section, we played host to 72 players for the day.
Games commenced at 9.15am and continued right the way through until around 6.00pm.
With all 3 outdoor greens full, spectators were treated to watching some of the best male and female bowlers in the state, as they played off for the right to progress to post sectional play at Burnie Bowls Club the following day.
The team crowned State Mixed Pairs champions at the completion of post sectional play will earn the right to represent Tasmania in the Australian Championships in November this year, which will be held right here at the Devonport Country Club!
Our Greens staff deserve a special mention, with all 3 outdoor greens not only prepared and ready for play by 9am, but feedback on the day from players was that all 3 greens were running superbly.
